How long should you bleed after your hymen breaks?

I believe my cherry was popped recently after having sex and I just wanted to know how long will it bleed and how much.

all right this is going to sound really weird coming from a 17yr old guy but i heard from my girlfriend that most girls bleed for about 2 maby 3 days tops.. but ofcourse that all depends on the girl ofcourse..

The two or three days thing is not always true. You will most likely bleed after the hymen is ripped, and a very small amount for about a day after. The bleeding could continue up to more than a day depending on how sensitive you are and if it has healed yet. The 'cherry' (hymen) is acctually a very thin layer of skin (tissue) covering about half of the entrance way to the vagina. Some people do not bleed at all after their hymen is popped, some are born without one, and some lose it during normal activities earlier in life such as tampon usage, horseback riding, extensive stretching, gymnastics, masterbation, and a whole number of other things. How much you bleed and how much it hurts your first time all just depends on the girl, but don't worry, it's natural.

It all depends on the person. It can bleed for 1 week to about 4 weeks...It'll be on and off. I've also come across that it could be like your period. Some females last for about a few hours to about a few day...even to about a few weeks. There is also some spotting after it's first broken. If there is an excessive amount of blood or you start to feel weird then you will want to see your OB/GYN or Doctor.
