80s costume

So, for Halloween, I want to dress 80s like, but I don't want one of those cheesy pre-made costumes.
What should I wear? (I am more than willing to go to thrift stores)
Also, if I straighten, then tease my hair really big, then side part it/flip it,...

is that 80s-ish?

yeahd that hair thing.

wear lots of shiney accessories,and flasy clothing.

leg warmers,head bands xD stuff like that.

okk so tmrw at our school is 80's day so I did a little research.
spandex, super bright colors and tye dye were IN. soo what im wearing is a big tye dye t-shirt that im going to tuck into my pants. not all the way but enough so the shirt folds over your pants. im wearing my sexxy orange skinny jeans wink and converse (:
oh your hair should be like a really high ponytail but if you want you could definitly tease your hair but not like that whole scene hair thingyyy xP
and those sunglasses that were just flat at the top were pretty fresh too sooo have fun and your welcome (: peeacceee

the 80's is loaded with diff styles..but ALL had to do with COLOR. like 80's rap [cuban link gold chains, gold rope chains, colorful watches, acid wash jeans], 80's pop [spandex, leg warmers, juss think '85 MADONNA lmao], 80's rock//thrash [c'mon BIG HAIR lol, black leather in EVERY form lol, uhh fashion chains, beetles vintage tees..and did I mention BIG HAIR ?? lol, 80's rock fashion for men was to dress in tight clothes, wear make-up and look like women !! yea, I'm off topic lol but uhh..anyways I'M BIG ON 80'S FASHION AND LIFESTYLE [I don't live it but it seemed cool back then]..so if you need help to come up with the PERFECT outfit, let me know :]

okk. I was an 80s punk girl last halloween,
I wore an old black t-shirt with a hot pink taktop overtop.
I wore a denim miniskirt with black leggings underneath.
I wore grean and black striped legwarmers (from clairs)
thick heeled boots.
and a lot of black/multicolor jellybracelets (bangles work too) and tease your hair and make it rele big. if your parents have lived throu the 80s-90s they can probly help too.
