there are lots of different sorts of fast, so it depends which sort you mean.
if it's a fast that includes some kind of food or a soup fast or a juice fast then it is possible to do 30 days.
if it's a water fast or something similar to that, then 30 days is a long time and you will be ill.
not to mention if it's a long fast then when you finish your fast you will have to gradually introduce food again.
the longest I've done is a 10 day water fast...although I wanted and could've done more...I wish I had.

People are just not correct when they say you wont lose weight when you fast!! Of course you lose weight when there is no food being put in to it. The body starts to use its own fat and, indeed, muscle for energy, thus the tired feeling you get whilst on a fast. If not eating much does not result in Anorexia, then how come Anorexics are emaciated? Deeerrr!! I should know, I was one of them. But 30 days of only water, and seriously I think you will conk out and end up on a drip. The longest I have done with nothing but water is 5 days, which does not sound much, but unless your planning on staying in bed for 30 days and do nothing but breathe, 30 days is not possible to achieve. Its easy to make a vow to do these mega long fasts but when reality kicks in I think you will find you just HAVE to have something. When I was Anorexic I didnt not eat anything; I had one meal a day, was housebound, and ended up 4 stones and in hospital, but I didnt cut out food completely. I would say if you want to clean your system out and feel lighter very quickly, fast for about 4 days, just water and maybe herbal teas. Then just incorporate on the 5th day veggies and fruit, then a week later, protein, then a week later, small amounts of carb, and if you can [ you will feel weak] about an hour of moderate cardio, this could just be fast walking. If you do this, you will dramatically lose weight.
I would suggesst not fasting. fasting can be dangerous to your health and mentality. if you want to lose weight I would suggest a pre planned diet such as weight watches. weight watches has a sysytem where you cut down on food you eat. it is a point sysytem...u get up to 20 points a day and different foods are different if you want more info funmail me!

How to go about a fast to lose weight?
I'm thinkin about going into a 30 day fast, has anyone on here done this before if they have could they possibly give me some advice on how to go about it
