What could have happened with this guy?

I recently met a man. We seemed to really connect, had a lot in common, we laughed a lot, etc. He was very attentive and complimentary from the start, called often, was reliable for our first date. We had a good time on the first lunch date. He expressed that he wanted to see me again and the following week we planned to get together. He was emailing me and calling to discuss possible places we'd go, seemed enthused, had some more nice things to say on the phone about me, and poof! Gone! He never finalized the time or location and we never had that second date. Guys! Tell me what's the story? Why bother to go to the trouble of calling, saying nice things, if you're not interested...please explain. What could've happened? I'm not wasting my time analyzing this believe me...he's finished, but I'm curious as to what you all have to say about this one.

Either he chickened out, was playing with you or something happened to him!
