I am taking you literally, meaning funk music
parliament funkadelic
the meters
the funk brothers
earth wind fire
sly and the family stone
james brown
prince

if I had to pick a favorite it would be parliament funkadelic and the meters
I grew up during that time (yes, thank you I know that I am old)
funk was my favorite
but if it is another genre, ask.
