There's two ways of doing this, either plot it on a graph... or equate the two
y=x2 + 8x - 9
y = 6x + 15
x2 + 8x - 9 = 6x + 15
x2 + 8x - 6x - 9 - 15 = 0
x2 + 2x - 24 = 0
(x + 6) (x - 4) = 0
x = -6 or x = 4
