We do have french immersion but its a choice. Like from ~4th grade to 9th grade we are made to take 1 french class. The french immersion students do all french (except English class) up till 8th grade. Then in high school the french kids can take some more french classes if they want.
I don't know about other provinces but we don't have middle school here in Ontario. We have elementary which is junior kindergarten - 8th grade than high school from 9th grade - 12th grade.
