If you put the flowers in liquid glycerin upside down until the flowers absorb the glycerin not sure how long ,then remove and let dry on a paper towel this will preserve not only the color but keep the flowers soft. you can get glycerin from any pharm...
sounds like you have a cut worm problem, putting a cardboard collar around the base of your plants will help, paper towel tubes or toilet tissue tubes work well
boric acid (eye wash)
a small amount of cooking oil on a cotton ball will work.
believe it or not a paste of cigarette ash and water.
cold water and inside out.
try a paste made of baking soda and water, rub it with a soft cloth and it should come off easly.
