Its completely normal to be shy around someone you like. Don't worry I'm sure the girl you like is shy around you as well. Just try your best to be yourself and it should all go smoothly :)
Try getting a study group together. Its fun and its a good way to learn too. Sometimes its easier to understand from a peer than it is a teacher. :)

That is your personal choice. I personally prefer tampons. They are great for if you play sports and plus I just feel cleaner wearing tampons.
