Most guys won't talk to girls on a daily basis unless they're at least a little interested in a relationship. I'd watch for reactions to things that you do to him, like smile, or the tone he uses to talk with you, compare that with the way he talks to...
Heck, if the guy doesn't want to be tested, then he doesn't want you as bad as you think. I'd ask him.
