If your just wanting information on them so you can impress someone, give up. Chances are he'll ask a question that only a TRUE Slipknot fan would be able to answer and when you act like "uh oh... I don't know this" or give the wrong answer, he'll catc...
18 or older unless your with your parents or something on vacaction. But if you want to rent it by yourself, you have to be 18 or older in most cases.

The "listen to the song and write the lyrics yourself" idea is a good one! I do that sometimes.
