How to deal with period cramps

Period cramps can be an extremely painful thing for some women. Here is some tips on how to deal with bad period cramps.

Step 1

Get yourself a painkiller with some ibuprofen in it, e.g. Nurofen. Ibuprofen is excellent for taking away the pain associated with period cramps. Also if you start getting cramps (and you know it will be bad) take one pain pill as soon as you can, before it gets unbearable. (No need to suffer)

Step 2

A hot water bottle or heating bad, on your lower back or stomach (which ever works best for you) will help alleviate the cramps you are experiencing. If this doesn't work, try taking a hot bath and relaxing.

Step 3

Exercise!!! This is probably the best thing that you can do for your period cramps. It'll feel uncomfortable when you start, but you'll be amazed at how easily the pain goes away once you start jogging, cycling or swimming.

Step 4

Get yourself a magnesium supplement (fast absorbing magnesium, the fizzy types are excellent) and eat some bananas (which contains potassium). Both will help alleviate your cramps.) These work especially well for ladies who also get leg aches during their periods.

Furthermore drink lots of water. If your body is hydrated it will deal better with the pain.

Step 5

If none of the above works, remember to go and see a doctor or gynecologist for a check up to make sure that everything is fine. Period cramps should be manageable for all women.
