Toothache solutions Orajel If you don't have access to a pharmacy, below are some home remedies: 1. Using Icepack: Ice offers excellent numbing properties. Hold the ice around affected area and try to compress it there. Most often, the pain gets reduced as it is excellent in suppressing pain at nerve endings. 2. Get fresh peppermint (approximately 5 grams), add it in one cup of water and boil it, add half table spoon of salt. Make the water lukewarm and drink it. When ingested, this solution acts as pain killer and can eradicate other pains like headaches. 3. Using cucumber: Get cucumber from any vegetable stores, cut it into thicker slices. Hold these pieces on and around the tooth that is paining and it will start working to give soothing effect. If cucumber is refrigerated, it is better as its very chillness acts as catalyst to its soothing effect. 4. You can try out swig of whiskey over the irritating tooth. Once the gums surrounding absorb some quantity of alcohol, it delivers a kind of anesthesia to the affected area which results in lessening the pain. 5. Using oats: If toothache is experiencing the presence of abscess at gums then holding oats there can draw out the puss. The pain will be reduced. 6. Using dried peppermint leaves: Place a small stack of dried peppermint leaves around the aching tooth for 15 minutes and then spit out. Repeat this procedure 10 to 15 times a day. Peppermint acts in a dual way. First, it brings the abscess to the upper surface if there any and then acts as pain killer. 7. Using real vanilla extracts: Get a cotton ball and put some real vanilla extract on it. Apply it on the inflamed location and you will be amazed to find out that it numbs! 8. Using Clove: From ancient times, clove oil has been one of the regular instant therapies. If you are not able to find the clove oil, then search your kitchen shelves to find out few cloves. Try to squeeze this towards the painful area. Clove being analgesic in nature will reduce the soreness. 9. Asafetida: Another miraculous pain killer! Take a half spoon of it and mix it with bit of lemon juice to make the paste of it. Make this paste Luke warm and apply the mixture with help of cotton ball. 10. Use of Iodine: just a drop of iodine put on the tooth do the job. But you have to be cautious and you should not swallow it. 11. Oil of Oregano: Although it tastes bad and leaves a burning sensation behind after application, it has got natural antibiotic properties. 12. Garlic: Make a paste of garlic and add some rock salt to it. Make a homogeneous mixture to apply on the affected area. |

I don't think you understand that bulimia and anorexia are both psychological conditions. You don't MAKE yourself either of those things--they are diseases of the mind. They aren't substitutes for healthy diet and exercise, which WILL help you lose weight. Instead, it will slow down your metabolism, making it harder to lose weight. Eventually, anorexia and bulimia will demineralize teeth. Your teeth may become sensitive to heat, cold, and acids. Eventually, your teeth may severely decay, erode away from fillings, and finally fall out. Sexy, huh? Your blood potassium levels can drop significantly with regular vomiting or use of certain diuretics. This can disturb your heart's rhythm and even produce sudden death. Salivary glands may swell because of infection and irritation from the vomit. You may at some point suffer from stomach ulcers and bleeding and tears in your esophagus. Constipation may result from frequent laxative use. When bulimic episodes occur over time, a sequence of chronic illnesses can occur affecting your heart, liver, gastrointestinal tract, and/or neurologic complications. The way to lose weight is through healthy diet and exercise. Eat 4-6 SMALL meals a day, consisting of lean meats, whole-grain starches, fruits and vegetables. Set up your plate so 1/4 is meat, 1/4 is starch, 1/2 is fruit and veggies, and there is minimal fat. If you do this as well as drink 8 glasses of water a day and exercise for 30 min a day a few times a week, you will see healthy results. Good luck. Understanding the signs, symptoms, causes and treatment
What do you do when you have a broken arm? You go to a doctor and do what he says to get better. It's the same with you. YOU have a broken arm and need to do what the doctor says to get it to heal properly. When you have a broken arm, you have to yield control to the doctor. He is more knowledgeable and knows how to fix it. If you want it to stay broken then you ignore his advice and treatment. What do YOU want? Do you want to get well or do you want to DIE? Those are your only choices. Just remember, it is against the law for these people to harm you. Therefore, it is logical that they really are trying to help you. Trust them, not your brain's misguided thoughts that are trying to cause you to rebel against their advice. It is hard for you to consider releasing the control that you 'think' you have. YOU only have the control to destroy yourself because of the false image that your brain is feeding you. Relinquish that control to your advisors and you will slowly start gaining health AND happiness. Don't be afraid to trust. You have your whole life ahead of you. By trusting now you will be improving your future and the rest of your life.

Now, start eating. Slowly in small amounts until your body gets used to eating again. Always eat breakfast since that will jump-start your metabolism and help your body burn calories so that you don't get fat. Build up to drinking 8 eight ounce glasses of water per day, one glass before every meal (except breakfast) and before every snack. Don't worry about checking the weight scale. Checking it once a week is sufficient. Get sufficient exercise to help burn calories and to tone your body's muscles. That will help make your body look good while helping to keep off excess fat and it will help you feel good about yourself.
I am recovering from anorexia. It truely isn't AS hard as I thought it would be. I got professional help a few weeks ago and am doing so much better. If you are an adult please seek professional help. See you doctor and tell them that you think you may be underweight and that you believe you may have an eating disorder. They will assess you and if they discover that this is true they will refer you to an eating disorder specialist who will help you to recover. Believe me it is effective. If you are a child/teenager please please please speak to your family/a responsible adult and explain that you believe your eating habits are out of control and you need to seek professional help. Anorexia is a phychological illness- it is not your fault and you can recover from it physically and emotionally if you stop it before it is too late. If you are similar to what I was like my inner voice told me not to change and not to recover not to gain weight but you must be strong and get help. Where is the point in killing yourself through starvation when there is so much to live for. First of all, do not gain weight too quickly because this can be very dangerous, try to gain around 1 pound per week. If you are a female the best thing to do is eat 2000 calories per day- feel free to eat junk food but make sure that the staples in your diet are a healthy balance of protein, (meat/fish), dairy (milk, yogurt etc), starch (cereals/breads/pastas etc) and fruit and veg. Limit the amount of excercise you do. Official stastistics have proven that males find women with a BMI of 20 to be the most physcially attractive. Votes dropped dramatically when the BMI went lower than 18.5 (what is considered the minimum healthy BMI)

Anorexia
Info relating to a member of Fun Advice who 'supposedly' died from anorexia: Your day is done, your troubles past,
According to her posts, she was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 102 pounds. Two and a half months later she was down to 53 pounds. She was definitely anorexic. She hid her condition from her family, friends and even her boyfriend. She wouldn't / couldn't admit that she had an eating disorder. June 20th: She still thinks that she is fat and that everyone is lying to her. June 23rd: She complained of stomach and chest pains and a shakiness of her hands. She was advised to start eating and to also see a doctor. Naturally, she could do neither because of the mental state of the eating disorder. July 13th: She admits that it is like a war in her head (eat or not to eat) but refuses intervention. Still won't admit that she has a mental problem / eating disorder. Late July: She read an article about girls with anorexia and bulimia and wondered if that was possible. Approximate end of July: Fun Mailed me that she had taken everyone's advice and told her mom. Fun Mail from Blair around August 3rd i can be right.
i just coughed up bloood, again. i think my life is slowly comong to an end but why am i not scared?? why cant i stop doing what i know is doing this to me? August 4th: She was admitted to the hospital and had an operation that inserted a feeding tube into her stomach. She hates everything and still doesn't comprehend that it is SHE that has a problem. Regrets loss of control over her own actions (the choice to eat or not to eat). She still thinks she is fat. Still can't force herself to eat. August 19th: Says she hasn't been happy for a very long time. August 21st: My response to her third from last Question that she posted http://www.funadvice.com/q/i_need_some_advice_on_what_... If you're only 24 kilos, that's only 53 pounds. You still need to gain a lot more weight in order to get healthy. There is nothing any of us can say that is going to help you and your situation. YOU have to decide that YOU want to get well and start leading a normal life. That's all it takes. YOU, making the decision, then following through on those things that will benefit you. I really wish there was something that I could say or do, but there isn't. All I can do is keep hearing about your dangerous condition and keep wondering how much longer it's going to be until your body totally quits. I'll be sorry to hear of your passing away but will know that WE did nothing wrong, that that is the normal and natural result of anorexia. Maybe we can use your story as a way to try to influence some other young person away from this mental eating disorder that is such a killer of the world's young people. Ted

Fun Mail from Blair around August 24th well i am going to my inpatient treatment center in a couple of hours. i still have my feeding tube in. i really don't want to go, and i hate my parents so much for forcing me to go. i do not want to put weight on, i do not want to get counciling.
Any way, i told my older brother the other day about this website and asking people for help, and he said it was a good idea, and he said (because i dont think i am allowed to use computers) that he would come on here and let people know if anything should happen to me. But i also wanted to say, the other day when you said that if i died that you would use my story and i got all pissed off, i was thinking about it and if anything should happen to me, i would like you to post a post on this website with my story, so other people will know and if they have an eating disorder, then they can hopfully get help. please that is all i ask for,

this is the letter.. Hey Nate. I love you so so much. And I don’t know what to say to you, all I can say is I am sorry. I am so so so sorry. I never meant to put you through so much pain. I didn’t mean to, honestly. I will try to explain this to you as best as I can, and I really want to you to listen, and really try and understand as much as you can, okay!! I honestly didn’t and sometimes still don’t think what I am doing is wrong, I still like what I do. I first just wanted to go onto a diet and loose some weight and then everyone was telling me how good I looked, and I really liked it, so I just started to eat less and less, until less became hardly anything. I could never reach my target, my target got lower and lower. I would only ever eat at dinner time. I would sit at the table, and mainly push my food around on my plate, cut my food into tiny little pieces hide it under other foods and in my napkin, and what I did eat, I would go and throw it up straight away. I would use excuses like I was sick or I ate before, or I had homework to do, so I would take it up to my room and eat it, but I would actually flush it down the toilet. I would throw up a lot, and then when I started to throw up blood I knew something wasn’t right, but I couldn’t stop. I liked what I was doing, it gave me a sense of control, I felt like I was finally controlling something in my life, and I liked it. But I couldn’t stop, it was like an addiction, and sometimes as hard as I tried I just couldn’t stop throwing up. I know this might be hard to hear, but I really want you to know all of this. Even though I was lying to everyone’s faces, I really didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I am sorry if hiding it from you if it hurt you, but I knew that you wouldn’t understand.
Nate you are my best friend. It hurts me the most thinking about how I am treating you. I miss your hugs, but I just can’t let you touch me, I hate you even looking at me, because I am disgusting, and I can’t stand you looking at my disgustingness. I miss talking to you. You are my best friend and you always understood what I go through, but I knew you wouldn’t be able to understand this. I just knew you wouldn’t. I hope that you don’t hate me, because one day I am going to be myself again, and we will go back to normal, and thinking of those days make me want to keep on living. I would rather die then be fat! I really would and I honestly mean that!! I am sorry if this letter hurts you or upsets you, but I want you to understand. Even though I don’t think you can. If you are reading this letter, I am probably dead, because I don’t plan on giving you this letter, and if I died I am guessing you will find it. I am sorry about what I have put you and mum and dad through I really am, I honestly didn’t mean to! I love you guys sooooo sooooooo much words can’t even describe it! But I am tired of living this life, I just don’t think I can do it for much longer, be fat, it’s disgusting, I am just crawling out of my skin. I love you Nate! Two helpful tips: First, to have easy use of posts for Reference purposes, when you see a post that interests you and you want to keep it for Reference, simply 'Copy' the Permalink at the bottom of the post into your clipboard and then Fun Mail it to YOURSELF!
