When you file taxes would you recieve more money back as a single parent or as a married couple with a child?

Me and chris were planning on getting married next april but are thinking about moving it up to this year if we get more money back because we desperatly need a new vehicle.

Answer #1

You need to look at the tax deductions for your state. File them honeslty and correctly as I am sure you do not want an IRS problem. Also you may want to speak with a tax advisor.

Answer #2

On the average, you would get more of a deduction as a married couple with a child, because there are two of you, however, it also depends n how much you made and paid out through the year.
