Will my Cocker Spaniel get along with my new Chihuahua?

I had a cocker spaniel dog for ten years she was my little girl. I lost her last year to kidney failure. altough she was quite heavy she slept in my bed with me, sat on my lap I spent most of my time with her I looked after her and she looked after me. about 3 month after she died we got another cocker spaniel even though I had always wanted a chihuhua and had asked for so long. we called the new cocker ruby, she is the complete oposite to rosie as she is an outdoor dog, big, boyish, very lively and doesnt let you cuddle her or hold her. this upsets me as I always used to be comforted by rosie as she listened to me and was always there for me when I was sad and upset. my parents have said that I am allowed a chihuhua as that is the dog that I want ( one man dog, cuddles you, small, like a baby) but there is one problem and that is will the medium sized ruby (cocker spaniel) get on with a tiny coco ( chihuhua)?

thank you

oh im so sorry about your loss! :(

but yeah all dogs get along as long as there socialized specially if there young so yeah they most definatly get along so nothing to worry about if you decide to get a cute little cuddle bug!! :)

Just keep in mind that because your Cocker is rambuntious, and playful, your little Chi will depend on you for protection from getting injured. That means that all play has to be supervised until your Chi is bigger, and the Cocker has matured and come to the understanding that hard play is out. You don’t have to be mean about it, just vigelent…like stopping the play BEFORE it gets to much.
